Meet the Trainer

Kiri Shumaker is our head trainer here at Rebel K9 Ohio. She is CPDT-KA certified and has been training dogs since 2017, though she has taken several of her family dogs through obedience training courses since she was 11 years old. Kiri has been working professionally in the animal industry since 2014 and has a wide variety of experience, inlcuding veterinary medicine, dog boarding and daycare, pet stores, non profits and service dog organizations. Kiri graduated in 2017 from THE Ohio State University with a degree in Animal Sciences, inlcuding a minor in Biosciences and Human & Animal Interactions. Even with all of her current experience, she is always pursuing knowledge through experiences, CEUs, collaborating with other trainers, and reading as much as she can on canine behavior.

In her free time, she enjoys swimming at the lake, hiking, photography, reading, playing video games and competing in sports with her dogs.

Kiri's pronouns are she\her. Her name is pronounced KEER-ee.
